RoHS “Importer”

RoHS “Importer”

RoHS applies to four types of companies or individuals in the supply chain: manufacturers, importers, distributors, and authorized representatives.

For RoHS purposes, you qualify as a “importer” if:
  1. You are located within the European Economic Area (EEA); and
  2. You place into the EEA a product that is or contains electrical or electronic equipment (EEE).
If you meet these criteria, you are considered an “importer” under RoHS even if you are acting as an individual and not through a company.
