What Are a Manufacturer's Obligations under RoHS?

If a supplier qualifies as a manufacturer under RoHS, the supplier must:
 
  1. Comply with substance restrictions, meaning not manufacture products that with substances restricted under RoHS in excess of their permissible concentrations;
  2. Perform internal production control to prevent the use of substances restricted under RoHS;
  3. Draw up technical documentation for products manufactured;
  4. Complete a declaration of conformity for RoHS purposes; and
  5. Affix the CE marking to their products or their packaging.
 
Suppliers who qualify as manufacturers under RoHS must keep all documentation showing they complied with these obligations with respect to each product for 10 years from the last date of manufacturing the given product.
