What Is a Full Materials Declaration?

A full materials declaration (FMD) is a document one supplier issues to another -- usually its direct customer. An FMD declares one or more of the supplier's product's compliance status with REACH, RoHS, and Conflict Minerals.

An FMD provides each individual material, and each individual substance in each material, for a given product. An FMD also provides the percentage each material or substance comprises of the total weight of the product.

An FMD only includes intentionally added materials and substances. In other words, a supplier does not need to include impurities in substances in an FMD.
